Hello All,

I need some professional support. I work as a Human Resources Analyst at a donor-funded management consulting firm, and I have been asked to draw up an HR strategic plan and a 2-year staffing plan. However, I am clueless about this as I have not done anything like this before. Does anyone have tips or recommendations on how to go about this, or templates that they're willing to share?

Dear Esotubo,

Your strategic HR plan should be an offshoot of your company's strategic plan. Therefore, the question arises: has your company made the strategic plan? If yes, what tools were used to design it? What are your company's weaknesses as far as human resources are concerned?

Concerning the staffing plan, you may first determine your manpower requirements, the type of manpower needed, when it is needed, their qualifications, other skill sets, and above all, where you will find these people.

To attract better manpower, how will you enhance employer branding? Who will be involved, and how will it be executed?

Strategic HR is quite comprehensive. Nevertheless, if you need consulting on strategic HR or business strategy itself, feel free to contact me.

Thanks,

Thank you Dinesh. This is quite helpful. I guess I have some homework to do.
