Dear HR mates,
I have newly joined here.I need an advice regarding appointment order.
If an employee joins on 1st May.2017 and is on training without pay for 3months so his salary will start by 1st August.2017 also on contract for a period of 1 year.My query is when we need to give appointment letter and from when his bond will start.If we give appoitment letter dated 1st may then his bond will start from that itself but not salary.So it might create a problem.In this case what i need to do.Can anyone guide me.

Dear Tirtha,
If the employee has joined on 1st May 2017, his salary starts from that day onward and you should issue him appointment letter from that day. Statutory deductions like PF/ESI, if applicable, also start from this day.
Whom to train and the duration of the training are the internal matters of your company and it cannot have bearing on the labour laws. You need to adhere to the provisions of either factory act or shops and establishment act as applicable to your company.
