Please find attached the Payment of Wages (Amendment) Act 2017, as notified in the gazette on 16.2.2017. This act provides for the payment of wages through banking channels. It shall be deemed to have come into force on 28.12.2016.

Establishment may still disburse the salary in current coin or currency note. So, the is no base for this amendment in payment of wage act. Regards, Ajay
