The PF establishment search page has not been working since December. Has this link/page been shifted to some other URL, or has EPFO completely disabled it?
Earlier, employees were able to determine whether their company was paying on time using this page. The principal employer also used to check whether the contractor was paying EPF to its workers or not. However, now this link is not working. Can somebody tell if there is any substitute for it?
Thank you

Employees can get a massage on their registered mobile when their PF for XXX month is credited. They can also check their passbook.
If you need specific information, please let us know. The new ECR system has a clear mandate in the challan to provide off-roll (contract labor) data as well. If the contractor fails to do so, action will be taken against them.

People hardly receive an SMS from EPFO regarding the amount being credited. In the last 5 years, I personally cannot remember receiving an SMS from EPFO more than 5 times, despite having a fully KYC-compliant UAN.
As far as the passbook is concerned, I have heard that these member portals do not get updated regularly. I was informed by one of our HR managers when I joined and inquired after 4 months as to why my new account number was not showing in my employee UAN portal two years back. She replied that they had processed it from their side, but it takes time to get updated and reflect in the member portal. I resorted to the establishment search to verify whether deposits were being made, and indeed, they were depositing every month. It was only that my UAN was not displaying that member account number. Suddenly, after a few months, it appeared on its own.
My understanding is that if I join a company now and they link it with my existing UAN, it may not be updated in my member portal immediately, I assume. I may not be able to see or check it for a few months based on my own experience.
I am unsure how these changes will take place now, though.

EPFO has a dedicated number to check your EPF balance. Grab your mobile and save this number: 011 22 901 406. It may not be a fancy number, but it is very useful as you can get your EPF balance by giving a missed call to this number.
Upon joining a new employer, it will not reflect immediately unless the employer verifies the same with DSC. Even after digital verification, the department takes its own time to link the old accounts with the present. It takes up to 3 weeks after digital verification by the employer.
Dear Mr. Sharma,
I'm not talking about consolidating old accounts into one. Earlier, if an employee joins an organization with an existing UAN, the employer links it, but the employee can see it only after a few months in his member portal. Is this the same now? If I join a new organization, I'll give my existing UAN to link. Will the employer link it immediately? After how many days will I be able to see it in my member portal? Does it still take weeks, if not months, or will it show in my member portal immediately?

Linking neither confirms employment nor confirms that data is verified. Let the employer either verify the same with DSC or make at least one payment to the linked UAN. Most of the linked UANs have missing Aadhar data verification or PAN verification, which should be verified with the departmental portals. It is submitted by SRO/RO batch-wise to the concerned departments.
If you have doubts, then open your own UAN member portal and look at Aadhar/PAN status where it is displaying "verified," and on the next, a button appears "demographic verification." Click that to verify, and you can understand the system of EPFO verification. However, on confirmed first payment from the employer, the new employer would get visible on the member portal.

Ok, got it. Thank you.
But then, if linking alone doesn't imply employment, why is it that when an employer links its establishment code with a UAN, the previous employment of that employee becomes untagged from the UAN automatically? Until the employer verifies it with DSC or uploads an ECR, the previous employment should remain tagged.
It appears that you have a wealth of information in this area, and you are an expert in this field.
Thanks for your insights, which have helped me gain a better understanding of EPFO.

If the employer does not make payment in the next ECR of the linked new linked UAN, then the employer will get SCN, and the linked UAN would be free for getting linked for the next employer.
Under CLRA (Contract Labour), a single employee works for more than one employer often. The new system allows the allocation of working days of the employee so that no employee can enjoy dual employment at any single time slot.

Ok. At any point in time, two establishment codes cannot remain active in a single UAN, so dual employment is absolutely not possible.
But I guess if an employer uploads one ECR against a UAN where an employee has recently joined, the employee can see this employment in his member portal service history immediately, maybe within a week post uploading ECR. It shouldn't take more time than this.
