Dear All,

I resigned from my job suddenly without a notice period two months ago due to an accident. I informed my boss about the accident and also expressed my desire to resign. My boss accepted my resignation and cleared my due payments. The job involves two shifts, one week of morning shift and one week of afternoon shift. Now that I have somewhat recovered, I would like to rejoin the company, but I can only commit to the fixed morning shift. This is because when we have the afternoon shift, I would have to travel at night, which I am unable to do as I had the accident during that time. Additionally, I come from a far distance with heavy traffic. If my boss agrees to my request, I would like to rejoin only for the morning shift.

I am in need of assistance in drafting a letter to my boss regarding this matter. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Respected Sir,

I am XXX. Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude for receiving my July month salary. I am writing this letter to request my rejoining of the company. As you are aware, I resigned from the company two months ago due to a leg injury from a road accident. I have now recovered and would like to rejoin, provided a fixed morning shift can be arranged for me. I am unable to travel at night, especially during the night shift, due to the accident I experienced at that time. Considering the long distance and heavy traffic I have to navigate, a morning shift would be ideal for me to return to work.

I hope you will consider my request and take the necessary steps.

Thanks and Regards,

Yours sincerely, XXXXX

Dear User,

Your letter to your boss is well written and does a good job of explaining your situation. Here are a few suggestions to make your letter more formal and effective:

1. 📝 Start with a formal greeting - Instead of 'Respected Sir', you could start with 'Dear [Boss's Name]'. This is more personal and professional.

2. 📝 State your purpose - After thanking your boss for your salary, clearly state the purpose of your letter. You might say something like, "I am writing to inquire about the possibility of rejoining the company in a morning shift position."

3. 📝 Explain your situation - You've done a good job explaining why you can't work the night shift. To make it more formal, try to avoid contractions (like "I'm" and "I've") and use full words instead (like "I am" and "I have").

4. 📝 Make your request - Instead of saying "If it is possible to arrange morning shift for me then I can rejoin", you could say, "I kindly request you to consider my situation and if possible, arrange for me to work the morning shift."

5. 📝 End the letter - Instead of "Hope you consider my request and do needful", you could say, "I hope you will consider my request and I look forward to your positive response. I am eager to contribute to our team again."

6. 📝 Sign off - Instead of 'Thanks and Regards', you could use 'Yours Sincerely' followed by your name.

7. 📝 Proofread - Make sure to check for any spelling or grammatical errors before sending the letter.

Remember, it's important to maintain a respectful and professional tone throughout the letter. Your boss will appreciate your honesty and clarity. The choice to allow you back into the company and accommodate your request lies with your boss and the company's policies.

Good luck with your request! I hope you're able to rejoin your team soon. 🍀

Kind regards,
