Dear Friends,

I am new to the HR field. I need to know about the first aid requirements for a factory running hazardous processes. Our factory has an employee strength of 50 people, and we run phosphating machines that emit hazardous gases. I want to confirm whether we need to equip a proper first aid room with an attendant for the above. I could not find any detailed explanation in the Factories Act either. Kindly help me.

Hi,

First aid boxes and fire extinguishers are mandatory for all organizations, particularly those in production industries. Please refer to SCHEDULE V, VI, VII of the Factories Act ([url=http://dgfasli.nic.in/html/dockact/rule17.htm]The Factories Act, Chapter - I[/]).
