Dear Bhagat,
Thank you! However, we only had 3 employees at our corporate office in Gurgaon. Is LWF still compulsory in this case? I have heard from some sources that if the staff count is less than 4, LWF is not necessary. Could you please provide your opinion once again?

Dear Sagar Rana,
The Punjab Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965, has been adopted by the State of Haryana upon its reorganization. The Act is applicable to a factory, shop, or a commercial establishment employing ten or more employees. Every employee shall contribute ten rupees per month to the Fund, and every employer shall, in respect of each such employee, contribute twenty rupees per month to the Fund. The rates of contributions, required to be made under section 9, have been revised from rupees five and ten by the Haryana Legislature through a notification dated April 11, 2012.
