Hello,

I am in the final semester of MBA-HR in Indore. I am placed in Spectrum Consultants, Bangalore, as an Associate Consultant. I wanted to know if in the future I want to switch into a core HR profile in other industries, will that be possible for me? And will it provide good opportunities for me?

I also have an opportunity to join a newly established stock market company of a friend in Indore. Thirdly, I can also try to join a manufacturing sector company at Pithampur, Indore by walk-ins.

Which one should I join?

Hello Radhika,

You need to ask a few questions first:

1) Are you serious about pursuing HR as a career?
2) If so, how will joining a stockbroker company help in pursuing a career in HR?
3) Is your job as a consultant allowing you exposure to core HR functions?
4) If not, how can it help you secure an opening in core HR after spending some time in the current profile unless you accept starting as a fresher in a core HR profile?

If you analyze your current situation, the future course of action will unfold itself.

Hope this helps.

Hi Radhika,

What attracts you to a career in HR? Why do you feel it is fulfilling?

What is the job profile of an Associate Consultant? If it is not in the field of HR, please enumerate the skills which are a part of this profile and can be utilized in the HR field. I can help you here, at no charge.

Regards
