Dear All,
I have completed my MBA in HRM from the MIT School of Business. Since i have graduated i have been looking for a breakthrough job in any company but very confused at the outcomes of different job interviews(for Recruitment Executive, HR Trainee etc etc). Taking into account the current scenario,
1) I am interested in the manufacturing sector, but which sector should i look for jobs now?
2) Where else other than personal contacts and job portals can i find openings?
3)Are there any suggestions for me to do something HR-Related worthwhile now??

Hi
you can get jobs by networking as well as through sites.
Its better to start with some small manufacturing comp where
you can learn and get the overall idea of HR .
Then you can opt for any division of HR as per your like.
That way in HR ,generalist role is always in demand and it
will be in demand i feel.

But the market is very low right now, so should i wait till i get a right opening as HR Generalist or get into a consultancy as recruitment executive(which im getting very easily)
Any other suggestion, any thing i can do to supplement my HR degree right now that im sitting at home

Hi preeti,
Ur condition is same as mine- i m also sitting at home. My xams bn over this July.
Yes Preeti your idea is right . If u get any chance to join any consultancy you should not waste time. U work here for the time being until u get a good break. Its good rather than sitting idle. Bcoz its recession period.
I hav also decided to do as i suggested u.

A thousand mile journey msut begin with a single step
start with a recruiter firm
then build upon skillsets eg Competence mapping or Compensation designing or Social compliance etc and look for a suitable opening later
or
pick a few short term courses in the above n join a good setup from day one
