Dear Seniors,
I would like to see a clarification: if an employee joins on a particular date, and the next day or day after is a holiday, will that be a paid holiday or not considering an employee has just joined one day before?
Please clarify.

Dear Meenu,
That should be a paid holiday. you are not suppose to consider employee has just joined a day before.
Joining day is Important right? otherwise have to plan accordingly for the joining date of employees.
Thanks & Regards

Dear Meenu,
If an employee has joined in Management cadre, then he / she will be paid for the paid holiday.
The payment of the paid holiday will depend whether your organization has declared that holiday as paid holiday or no.
If your organization has declared a paid holiday and an employee has joined your organization one / two day prior to the paid holiday then he / she will get the salary for that paid holiday as your other employees will get.

Whenever you have joined your earning will start from the same day no matter if the holiday is on next day or later. If company has declared holiday on that day or it's a weekly off then it will paid to you until unless the the employer don't given you any specific instruction to come or report on that particular day.
Many companies are now using advance payroll software like Saralpayroll that comes with leave management module and one can easily manage employees leave and attendance using that.

Hi,
It will be a paid holiday for the employee who has joined just before one day, because it is a declared paid holiday for your company. Further, in such cases you should plan in advance and also you could have asked him to join after that holiday in order to avoid such type of problems.
Thanks

Hello,
It is immaterial whether the employee has "just" joined or is on probation, the holidays that are applicable to the establishment/factory after he has actually joined he will be entitled to enjoy such holidays.
For reasons of his terms and conditions of employment he may or may not be able to avail CL, SL or PL but paid holidays to the establishment/factory he must get!
Clear?

As i am not so sure about this, but if any candidate has joined the organization on a day before holiday, or two, it doesn\'t matters, because on the offer and joining letter if the date is declared, the candidate will be declared as the employee of that organization from that date. In that circumstances that would be considerd as paid holiday.
Seniors please correct if i am wrong.

Hello,
You are absolutely RIGHT!
Even of the date on which he asked to join happens to be a paid holiday for the establishment, he (without actually joining) be entitled to that paid holiday. Let there be NO doubt about this!
