Dear All,
Further to the announcement by the Election Commission of India, regarding the upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha, 2014, will be held in the following states as per the schedule given below.
• On 10.04.2014 to all Lok Sabha Constituencies of Kerala
• On 17.04.2014 to all Lok Sabha Constituencies of Karnataka
• On 24.04.2014 to all Lok Sabha Constituencies of Tamil Nadu
According to Section 135-B of Representation of People Act, mandates that every person employed in any business trade, industrial and taking or any other establishments and entitled to vote at election to the house of the people or legislative assembly of the State shall on the day of polling be granted a holiday. There shall be no deduction or abatement of wages of any such persons on account of holiday granted for polling day.
The relevant notifications (G.O) issued by the respective State Governments are attached for your reference please.

I am working in a broking company.i've joined this company on 03feb2014 and my NISM certificate were attach in branch on that day. when i asked for a offer letter, then they told me that that'll come shortly. i got my offer letter on 11 march2014 after36 days of joining. and in april i got a salary from the date of offer letter. now they are not giving my previous salary. what should I do.My mob no 9598058309

In the notification,Rajasthan state is not mentioned whereas on 17/04/2014.....we do have the Lok Sabha Election.
Is there any other notification issued because it is difficult to convince the management.

Hello Sir, I am working in a IT company, i would like to know if it is a holiday for us too? We work in the UK shift i.e 11 pm- 8 pm. Could you please let me know if this is a mandatory holiday?

Dear Vikash,
I read your statement written in CiteHR site. It is quite amazing. By the time you joint this company, on the same day you must have your contract on desk and after that you could start your job. Furthermore, you can refer again in HR department and listen what they will indicate than talk with them in a better manner. you both should come to a conclusion. If the HR practitioner reject and can not respond you logically, you can directly contact with HR director or CEO/ the company owner.
