Respected Seniors,

I have worked for a retail company for 3 years, and without any notice, I was asked to resign. I did so as I had no option. After 4 months of my resignation, when I approached the company to sign my PF withdrawal form, the management is not signing. I feel they want to put me in a problem. Please suggest a solution for this.

Thank you.

If you have the PF number (may be printed on your payslip), you fill out the withdrawal form and submit it to the concerned PF office. Attach a covering letter addressed to the Assistant Commissioner (Lok-Panchayat) mentioning that the employer is not signing. They will process it further.

Subject: Re: PF withdrawal in case employer does not sign the papers

If you are unable to get attestation of the employer in the P.F. withdrawal application for whatsoever reason, you may forward the claim application duly signed in the presence of any of the following authorized officials and get attestation overleaf with his official seal:

1. Magistrate
2. A Gazetted Officer
3. Member of Parliament / Legislative Assembly
4. Manager of the bank in which the Saving Bank Account is maintained.

Hello,

I used to work in a reputed hotel for 3 and a half years. Later, I joined another hotel where I filled in a PF transfer form. Now, as I have left this place, I filled in a PF withdrawal form. According to the EPFO site, my claim is rejected, and I have not received any letter or notification yet. However, I have a few doubts:

1) Will I ever be able to withdraw the accumulated amount in my account without the help of my previous employer?
2) How can I get detailed information about the claim rejection?

Thank you.

Just to add, with respect to obtaining approval from a higher authority, in the scenario where the company has ceased operations, only the signatures of the higher authority as indicated by fellow members are valid. Otherwise, as stated by Ulhas Chandratre, the approval is considered valid.

Dear all,

As a new development, PF withdrawal or PF transfer can be done online for every individual with effect from July 2013 onwards. This will ease the burden of PF members in getting their money either transferred or withdrawn.
