Anybody and everybody who has been hired by the company to do work. The Manager or the General Manager or the Vice-President...all are employees of the company.

Let me add one more word to Sanjeev's post that is the "Employees only onroles" need to be in muster roll.

It is better to have one muster roll for non-managerial class of employees and another for mangerial class to avoid any technical problems latter. B.Saikumar HR & Labour Law advsior Mumbai

Dear All,
i have few more doubts in this Muster Roll regards,
1.i saw few of the industries like Telecom and IT companies which doesn't maintaining Muster Roll, so kindly let me know which industries need to maintain this.
2. Company mention how many employees works approximately in their organisation when Company takes permission from the Labour Officer if that number exceeds is company need to take any extra permission.

If the director is also employee of the organisation and receiving remuneration for doing the work, his name can also be born on muster roll. B.Saikumar Mumbai
