Hi, I would like to know some details about the restrictions on employees doing part-time work after office hours, on leave, or during weekends. How can an employer prevent employees from engaging in such activities?

Hi,

Does the employer pay for 8 hours or 24 hours? An employee and an employer have agreed on 8 hours of work. Then why does the employer want to interfere beyond 8 hours? If the employer's work is suffering due to the extra work of the employee, then ask the employee to leave the organization and hire a new employee.

Why do people go for part-time work? Obviously, for more earnings. Give extra work and extra money to the employee. They will not go and work part-time, and the employer can stop work after office hours.

That's obvious and true, Mr. Manjay. I agree.

But if the employer has an overtime (OT) scheme, but people do not want to do overtime and prefer working at home, then how will the employer have control over them?

Hi,

An employer should give an opportunity to new people in a new shift if an existing employee is not interested in working. An employer cannot force an employee to do overtime. It's all about the manager to whom these people report. The manager must have the skill to motivate employees to work extra time and provide opportunities for them to earn extra. I would suggest you do some self-introspection to find out why these people are not interested in working extra.

Is their salary too low? Are they not happy with their seniors? Why are they not happy with their seniors? Is the working atmosphere good or not? Are they overloaded with work? Are they doing the same work repeatedly because of other mistakes such as supplier quality issues? Does your company pay overtime at a double rate? Does the employer take care of the employees? There are many questions. If you put restrictions on employees, they will leave the job, and then you will have to ask your employer to do it themselves.
