Dear Jayashri,
If your company is registered in one state say state X and employees are working in another state say Y then you have to follow the minimum wage of the state of Y for the employees working in state Y.
As regards to your query for maintaining registers (sofy copy) under the Minimum Wage Act, there is no rule under the act to maintain the records in excel, you have to maintain a hard copy as per statue, though you may maintain the records in the excel but at the end take a printout duly signed and maintain it.

Hope you find the above information useful.Irrespective of where a company is registered or has its head office; the operations in any geographical area are governed by the "law of the land" applicable.
Therefore, eeven if your company is registered in one state; its operation and activities in the "other state" will be governed by rules applicable in the "other state".
This is true, not just for any company in India, but also for any company in the world.
For example: Although Microsoft Corporation has its HQ in Redmond, Washington, USA; its Indian operation shall be governed by the Indian Laws.
Similarily, you must be aware of the problems that Google is facing in China, as it has to comply with the Chinese laws.
This well laid out and universally understood and accepted policy is called the "law of the land", meaning following the rules of the land where the particular office is situated or operations are carried out.
Warm regards.
