I want to know if a company registered in one state and employees working in a different place, in that case, which state's minimum wages apply. Also, can we maintain registers prescribed under the Minimum Wages Act in hard copy, or can we maintain this record in an Excel worksheet? I need the answers urgently. Please help me.

If your company is registered in one state, let's say state X, and employees are working in another state, say Y, then you have to follow the minimum wage of state Y for the employees working there.
Maintaining Registers Under the Minimum Wage Act
Regarding your query about maintaining registers (soft copy) under the Minimum Wage Act, there is no rule under the act to maintain the records in Excel. You have to keep a hard copy as per statute. However, you may maintain the records in Excel but, in the end, take a printout, duly signed, and maintain it.
Thank you.

Welcome to citeHR.com! I am happy to note that your query has been addressed perfectly by our member Vicky_rathod, and he deserves thanks for it. I would like to add this for your further information in the future:
Irrespective of where a company is registered or has its head office, the operations in any geographical area are governed by the "law of the land" applicable. Therefore, even if your company is registered in one state, its operation and activities in the "other state" will be governed by rules applicable in the "other state." This is true not just for any company in India but also for any company in the world.
For example, although Microsoft Corporation has its HQ in Redmond, Washington, USA, its Indian operation shall be governed by Indian Laws. Similarly, you must be aware of the problems that Google is facing in China, as it has to comply with Chinese laws.
This well-laid-out and universally understood and accepted policy is called the "law of the land," meaning following the rules of the land where the particular office is situated or operations are carried out.
Hope you find the above information useful.
Warm regards.
