Resignation or Termination Kindly clarify
Dear All,
One of my friend was called in by the senior management and told that they did not wish him to continue and that he should give the resignation letter.
While applying for new jobs, should he talk about this as termination / firing, resignation or leaving by mutual agreement ? He is very worried on this count and knows that any lies that he may tell maybe detrimental in the future.
please do help by giving clarifications.
Thanks and Regards,
Mitra

Dear Mitra,
As you mention in your post"he should give the resignation letter". The company had not terminated him he had submitted the resignation what ever reason may be. Ask your friend to know the reasons as why he was asked to do so, which will help him for future development.

Dear Mitra,
As per your statement and you query, i would like to tell you something...
Your friend has been told to put down his resignation by the Management. Therefore, it is clearly stated that Management does not want to terminate him from the services as this might create a barrier for your friend in his future career...Keeping this in mind the Management has requested your friend to put down the resignation...
Now your friend can state in his further interviews that he is changing the job for future growth and better prospects and tell him not to say that he has been told to put down his papers as it will be termed as termination....

Since your freind will be living the job after resignation, his experience certificate will show the same. He should never mention that he was asked to resign.
