Dear All,
Here, I have a problem regarding Labour Licence applicability. I am working with a Labour contractor providing Housekeeping services in an industrial area. I would like to know if a Labour Licence is applicable when we have different contracts with the same Principal Employer, and if the number of workers for each contract is less than 20? (As per the rules of the Maharashtra Government)
Please guide me as I am not aware of the specifics.
Thank you.

no, if labour quantity is less than 20 workers for each contractor, you don’t have to get labour licence. you can show the concerned authority this provision under Labour contract act of 1970.

Dear,
If you have different contracts in the same premises (like housekeeping, labor, etc.), the total number of employees across all the contracts should not exceed 20; in that case, there is no need to obtain a license. If the total number of employees exceeds 20, then the Labor Contract Act will be applicable.
If you have any queries, please contact me.
Thanks & regards,

Hi,
What if a contractor is supplying fewer than 20 workers to more than one company? Let's have an example. The contractor has 100 workers distributed among nearly 7 companies as follows: 15, 10, 15, 10, 15, 15, 10, 10, respectively. Would a contractor license be required? If required, then by whom?

We stand as a Principal Employer. We have one contractor deploying more than 100 individuals at our various warehouses. The numbers are as follows: 10, 15, 10, 9, 15, 30, 25, 10, 10. Is there an applicability of a license only for two warehouses (for deploying 30 and 25 employees) or for all others as the total number is 100? Please guide me.
