Remove the misconception that employee engagement means holding some sort of fun activity. It is the sum total of the employee experience in an organisation. It signifies the emotional bond an employee has for the organisation. All your HR activities are the employee engagement programme, It should not be equated to some picnic or stand-up comedy shows.

The first employee engagement starts with the on-boarding, induction and how seem-less you make the process of the new recruit to settle in his/her job and your organization's atmosphere. Employee engagement activities happen during the entire life-cycle of the employee in the organization.

Deciding whether to allow an intern to join while on leave or extend their joining depends on company policies, the intern's role, and availability. Company policies vary; some permit joining during leave, while others don't. If your company allows it, you can grant the intern to join during their leave, Consider the intern's role. If it's critical to company operations, it may be better to extend their joining until they return. Availability is important too. If the intern can only work after their leave, extending their joining makes sense.

Ultimately, weigh these factors and decide what's best for the company and the intern.
