Handing over and relieving formalities does not mean that you have fulfilled the employment contract conditions. They have the right to recover the Notice pay. pon, chennai

Dear Chaitra,
As per stander rule follow at universaly, they put on rule in appointment letter, if in case you wish to leave the company, then you have to given 1 month notice or same amount can be recover from your salary..
Hence, you have not given full notice to your employer so, the same will recover from your Full & Final settlement, i thinks post settlement, nothing any amount is pending to pay you, so, thats the reason, they said that they are not going to pay you.

Yes Sir, I agree with your point but while signing for the clearance letter, they said that they will provide the salary and they clearly mentioned that the uniform cost will be recovered from the salary due.
Then why didn't clarify at the time of handing over itself.?

Dear Chaitra,
You have mentioned that you have not served your notice period due to personal reasons. If you have been leaving from a company for whatever reasons, you should ensure that you are complying with the clause in appointment letter for notice period ...
Exit formalities and clearance letter procedures vary from company to company... Handover formalities is different...
If you have signed in final settlement sheet issued by your HR , with the amount due from company is mentioned.... they have to pay...
If not pls check your appt order terms...
