So he is company engineer as most of time he must be onsite or offsite working for the company and when he needs to take leave he must be thinking to take a good long leave, and its no harm in he clubbing with saturdays and sundays, Even in my earlier company when the company used to be shut down during diwali our 3 engineers used to come during holidays n do maintenance of machinery which in normal days would not be possible as those machines will be working and busy...
SO UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF THE COMPANY ENGINEER DONT TREAT HIM AS MACHINE, BE HUMAN,,, SHOW SOME HUMAN CONSIDERATION EVEN HE IS A HUMAN ,,, AND HE IS TAKING LEAVES FOR WORKING HARD NOT JUST LIKE U SITTING IN AC OFFIC E AND JUST TYPING ON COMPUTER . COME ON BE LIKE HUMAN, OR IF U NEED A ENGINEER TO BE PRESENT AT ALL TIMES RECRUIT MORE PEOPLE, HOW CAN U EXPECT A PERSON TO BE AVAILABLE 24/7 ARENT UR DEMANDS TOO MUCH,,,
ITS SHAME PEOPLE THINK LIKE THIS ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYEES :-x:-x:-x:icon8:

hi, lavenya
First find out the reason why he is apllying for leave often.Check whether it's fair or not.And explain to him about his presence and the replications that may cause in the case of his absense. If then he is doing the same thing as Mr.Shaktiraj said consult your senior official.

Thanks,
I tell him from the last six month (very politely) over the phone as he is residing engineer in bangalore, but his behavior is same.
This time I like to send him one email by copying some seniors.. but I couldn't find appropriate wordings as even I dont want him to feel bad, but I like if he understand our situation also.
Kindly advice, how should write email to him for this.
Please guide..
regards

Lavenya,
If the employee has exahusted all his eligible leaves for the year, the next leave availed need to be considered as Leave without pay, even if it is for less than a day.
A warning letter can be issued to him stating that his frequent absence is affecting the business. But before this, try and understand why he absents himself frequently. He may be having a problem. If you feel that his reasons are not genuine, then pls take appropriate action.

Dear Lav,
Taking authorised leaves is not a misconduct if sanctioned by competent authority, May be his Deptt. head ?
Leave is a facility to employees but not right and can be refused by management if company business is getting effected and taking of leave is beyond company norms or leave policy.
You can write a letter to him stating "unauthorised leaves and absence from duty without sanction of the management is misconduct and warrants disciplinary action against you, your e mail requesting leave from date..... to date..........is not sanctioned and you should report for duty on..... failing which it will be treated serious misconduct and management will take disciplinary action against you."

Frist things what i feel is that since he is fresher so he will be in probationary period ! does your company provide leave during probationary period ? if not then all his leave will be LOP loss of pay' but if he is outstanding performer than always managment give consider' jusy have thought over this again might be he really has some genuin reason for leave just try to be with employee rather than imposing anthing the job of HR is to know your employee very well and understand there problem probably might be prosessional or personal try to do this you get your answer
