Dear All,
I am working in an Oil Refinery, all employees are working 6 days (from Monday to Saturday) and the working hours for first 5 days is 08:30 AM to 06:00 PM (including 01 hrs Lunch Break) and on Saturday working hours is from 08:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
Therefore, we are working total 50.5 hrs in a week.
Is it correct as per Factory Act or under any other Labour Laws.

Dear Sachin: Your working hours are only 45 in a week (8.5X5+2.5), the lunch interval is not included in working hours. The spread over (including lunch interval) is also as per the Section 56 of the Factories Act which provides for 10.5 hours. KK

Dear,
You have good practice. That practice is not against of Factories Act
As per Factories Act worker should work for 48 hours in any week and your total working hours of work in week is only 45 hours so its not violation of Act.

Dear, As per Factories Act Weekly hours for six days in any factory should not more than 48 hours. In your case it is 45 hrs(8.5*5 working hrs+2.5).So it is a fair practice.
