Dear Parimal,
I would like to correct the wording written by Mr. J.S.Malik that EPF is applicable salary upto 6500 or less(means Basic+DA per month) at the time of their joining and it is applicable to organisation having 20 or more employee.
-Incase both above terms is not comply then voluntarily an organisation can avail this facility ,they can be part of the EPF by requesting to EPF organisation.
-Once an employee registered under the EPF organisation then he/she has to deduct PF from its salary even salary is above the 6500/month(example; A employee joined the organisation at the salary per month 4000 and he is liable to deduct PF amount form his salary and after two years his salary has been revised upto 9000 per months(however as a principle,Pf is not applicable because he cross the 6500/month but there is law limit to restrict this act) and he still a part of PF and PF to be deducted from his salary until he is working in the same organisation.).
Incase of any quires, please contact to me for more details.

Hi friends,
1. Mr. Sajid Ansari has answerd the query to the point but his last sentence has again left the core question un-answered. Taking the example set by him, I would like to know that, after the salary is revised from Rs.4000/-pm to 9000/-pm will the EPF deduction be restricted to the ceiling of 6500/-pm or it will continue to be deducted on actual salary drawn (B+DA) i.e. 9000/-.
2. Can any one help me out in finding this clause in the EPF ACT or any notification thereof.
3. Further, I am interested in knowing whether and how is EPF applicable where employees are paid on piece rate basis.
Thankyou
