Dear members,
The discussion is not directly related to HR management; however, I am highlighting it on this forum as we all use AI software extensively.
Decimals are taught during primary or secondary schooling. The answer given by AI to the question of whether 9.11 or 9.9 is greater is making rounds on LinkedIn. When I checked for the answers, I found the following:
a) Meta AI: - 9.11 is greater than 9.9
b) ChatGPT: - Between 9.9 and 9.11, 9.9 is greater number. While 9.9 has one decimal place, it is numerically greater than 9.11, which has two decimal places.
c) Google's Gemini: - 9.9 is bigger
d) Microsoft's Copilot: - The number 9.11 is greater than 9.9.
From the above replies, it is apparent that answer (c) is correct. (a) and (d) are false. Though answer (b) is correct, the justification given is wrong.
Comments on the Answers: - Day by day, our dependence on AI is increasing. It saves time. The onset of AI has invigorated a few professionals, and they have shaken off their dormancy. Others, who are on the verge of retirement or even retired, use AI-generated answers to the extent that they rediscovered their life's purpose. However, the above answers caution us about our over-dependence on AI.
This does not mean we should not use AI at all. Doing so would be akin to throwing the baby out with the bathwater. However, inaccurate answers bring AI under a shadow of doubt. Today's human intelligence took thousands of years to evolve. In contrast, artificial intelligence is only a few years old, and we should give it time to evolve. The message is clear now: we should not follow anyone blindly including artificial intelligence.
Thanks,
