Dear all, I wanted to know about maternity leave changes. I m working in private ltd company and I m 9 month pregnant. I heard that maternity leave act amended from 3 months to 6 month. Can anyone help me out to know about that act?

Dear member, so far as I understand, no such amendment has so far taken place. The proposal, it is reported, is still at discussion stage with the Government. Under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961, the maximum duration of maternity leave is still twelve weeks + one month ( incase of illness arising out of pregnancy) + medical bonus.
