I am working as an HR Executive with an IT company from the past 6 months.This is my first job and i have no prior experience in the HR field since i was a B.Tech student and passed out in 2012.I quite enjoy the HR work but the company is now offering me project coordination role in R&D.I do not wish to change my profile and am thinking of job change.Please advice.

It is better if you opt for job as per your core subject. Seeking job other than your profession may bring happiness for the time being, but later you have to feel sorry for it. . The problem comes when you change the company, they may ask your qualification/credentials relevant to your job, in which case you have to cut a sorry figure. Hence, it is better you select a profession relevant to your qualification

As you have interest in HR field, and also there is crunch of jobs in IT for BE guys, you can continue as HR role. Next step ahead, you can opt for MBA/PGDBM externally as per your convenience. As of now your company is just offering you, you can deny that & Continue as HR. If not, you can start looking for new job as recruiter/ executive in small/ medium sized company.

If you enjoy HR work and wish to continue your career in it then you can do certification course in HR like CHRP or PGD in HRM etc. If you do this then your resume will be more worthy and you will have two different career paths to be considered but if you wish to opt for B-Tech related profession then 6 months experience is not a big deal for changing a career path
