A close friend of mine has been issued a show-cause notice in a bank, but due COVID lockdown period he is not able to reply to that, can he ask the bank for some extension in this matter and one more thing is there anything like documentary proof that he can ask before replying to the show cause notice so that he can get some more time to prepare his reply to show-cause notice strongly.

In the current situation of lockdown, it may be alright to ask for reasonable extension in time to reply. But figure out how are you making sure that your written request is received by the bank.
It will be inappropriate to ask for documentary evidence at this stage of show-cause notice.
