Hi,
I have spent a day and selected some resumes(about 20), forwarded them to concerned department, they rejected all of them! I have done this activity 3 times in a week means 3 days I worked and forwarded 60 resumes but they didn't accept anyone of them.
Now I want to tell this whole thing to my HoD, that I am not sitting idle and working but that department is not accepting and cooperating with me!
I need a formal email to explain the whole thing!
Thanks all for your help!

Dear Max,
If 60 resumes are turned down by the respective HoD then there is some confusion in your selection process.
Have you designed the Job Description of each position? If not then henceforth whenever any vacancy needs to be filled then I recommend you asking for the JD of that position. Secondly, ask for the search parameter to select the candidate like education qualification, gender, age, specific technical or functional expertise etc. If you adhere to these search parameters then I do not think that HoDs will turn down the resumes that you send to them.
All the best!

This is not a new thing that in spite of work hard we are not getting recognition .Especially when we are doing recruitment . One most important thing you have to understand that whatever work done should notice by your immediate superior .If you are screening candidates and having telephonic round etc. ; you have to spend lot of time because it's time consuming work. And here people will only see your result, not an effort. It's your responsibility to show your efforts behind this .

Now do one thing, asked every concern person remarks and reasons for rejection of each profile. You can prepare a list in excel with Name, designation, qualification, experience and remarks column, every concern person should fill up Remarks column for each candidate and asked this in email only . So you can forward this as your proof of effort .
And with the help of your senior's remark for each candidate; you can analyze and screen candidates more efficiently.

Also , keep a practice to ask these remarks in email and mark cc to your HOD; as he will also keep in touch what is going on.

as one has pointed out already, do check out the job description. More importantly while using the screening software you should be alert that not just the words match but the description asked for.... for example 4 to 5 years experience, you get a resume, but you forget you are suppose to filter for finance and accounting only, but 4years of marketing you might have chosen...... you should always verify before sending it for consideration....

Also, check out if they really have the job opportunity, sometimes few consultancies just keep screening the resumes and send emails saying they have job, infact but don't, and already have sent such emails to the candidates you have filtered.....

In your case, it sounds more like an Hr agency or consultancy rather a good company, so do check out......

also just for 60 resumes if you are complaining, mostly you may try changing your job, because I have heard people screening out in almost thousand but consideration of those being numbered down to 50 or hundred a day! it is very clear that you are being forced to do the job by yourself, try searching for the new one.....
