Sorry to ask this question again..
Why do people continue to give original certificates to employers?? I just do not understand this. They are your property, no-one elses.
If employers want certificates, only give them full colour photocopies, not originals.

Do you really want to work for such dishonest and underhanded employers?
Other people on CiteHR have pointed out that this practice is illegal. While you continue to be complicit in this illegal activity, you will never change it.
Colour copies are now indistinguishable from the originals.

This is just a thought....
There should be a forum where , after establishing the genuineness of the case, HR people of other organizations speak to the HR Depttt concerned and bring to bear some informal pressure citing laws, regulations, reputation etc...
Maybe that'd be effective...
Thoughts ?

Hi Dear,
No need to worry first you ask employer politely to return your certificates and if they are not returning then ask for reason y they are not. you may be given a certificates receipt note by the employer while submission is a proof that your certificates are with them, and also you have not signed any agreement which shows the notice period serving. finally tell to the employer in the requesting manner that i have got only way to get my certificates is filing a case with police and further please dont blame. Mostly you will get without any complaints because keeping original certificates is a crime as our seniors stated in previous mails many times.

Dear Jaya,
No company can ask to submit your original certificates. Employer organization is doing illegal act, please never join such company in future. As far as getting your certificates back, Mr. Ravi Prasad has suggested you the right way.

Hello Jaya Lavanya,
How can you be so very naive?
Have you checked whether your MD is REALLY out-of-country?
If that's indeed true, then suggest put EVERYTHING what you discussed with the HR IN WRITING. Pl send a formal mail that you shall meet her/him after 15 days--as SHE/HE advised, since the MD is out-of-country.
And also suggest give 'just a hint....very slight one' that your parents/elders are suggesting to lodge a Police and/or Legal Complaint, but you wish to wait for 15 days. DON'T let it look like you are threatening.
And for Heaven's sake, never ever allow your Certificates leave your custody.
Suggest pl look back--would giving the Certificates & joining such a job & then running after HR to get them back be easier OR letting go of such companies & looking for openings in genuine companies be easier?
All the Best.
