Thanks Ravi for sharing information. Actually I was amazed by the one post " Boss Proposed Me".
I presume that "He" in disguise of "she" posted this issue of 62 year boss proposed young colleauge but the manner it was posted as proposing someone is an offence in India whereas proposing and dating is common practice and I read some respondents reactions on this issue as heinous crime.
Dating and proposing is personel affairs and not official matter...............:-D

Hi…
The entire statistic specified by you does not mention about Indian. You are also Indian you know the culture and values in Indian . I do not want to get into any arguments but what we talk about the employees who are ok with dating and all is minor community. Still in India women have values and they can not take it.
You are Indian they if she has posted why are you reacting as cultural shock? Yes it is possible with anyone…. And that to 62 years man boss!!!!!!! She might have anot reacted if he would have been a 30 /35. Its ahuman behaviour .If you have Indian statistic s in the same subject kindly let me know… no offence .. just a opinion.

Dear Mr Captain,
All that talk of dating and HR practice is non sense and displays immaturity on the part of concerned individual. The question or topic does not merit any response. Again these statistics are all figures taken out of blue.
I am only pained to see that a public forum such as this is used to go to any extent to raise trivial and private issues which are smartly viewed as HR practice instead of sharing a useful and purposeful knowledge. This is the price we are all paying for the unchecked advancement in science and technology. Where is the question of Practice leave alone HR practice for such issues at this period of turbulant ecnomic period in our country?
Everyone should realise that there is a self imposed restraint not to use the forum above the board.

Dear Respected Sir,
IF you go through the other posts posted by many other unprofessional members you will be highly discouraged to leave this forum as soon as possible. The people here are like this only, rarely anything of sense gets discussed here.

If this dating business is not HR practice, then " Proposal by Boss" also cannot be HR issue..........:-D
I believe this is reciprocal gesture to that "BOSS PROPPSED ME".
Altough its not HR issue but this did contribute as HR indicators.
Secially in western world..While I was in Finland some HR consulting companies did mentioned in their questionnire for survey on HR issues how this things get affected to work culture and retaintion of employees.

Dear all I guess we have a lot more to discuss in HR than dating and affairs. Sorry if I sound too blunt

Yes Aparna i also agree with you that we have a differents set of cultures and values in our country and i personally respect this too, but that is also true that the value is changing rapidly without any question that how much you and me dislike this... Today indian are dating with their coworkers, Lots of women are visiting pubs, night clubs, bars, with their male counterparts. There are lots of office affairs and breakup is also happening with the changes of the company or location of the job, till i have also seen successful marriage as result of office affair.
So office affair is no more taboo in India. Many of the time i have seen male bosses are use their young lady coworker or secretary; women are in extra marrital affairs with the male bosses to gain some extra benefit in the job.
As per some members openion it is not right place to discuss these things..but today's HR practises getting more involed with the issues like this with or without it's intention. The issue like this hamper work envirnorment and productivity so abviously HR must be liable and handle these tractfully. With the due respect to my friends who have argued that this is absolute personal maters and we as an HR forum should not pay head into this, i ask them when our people getting some objectioable proposal in workplace and getting demoralise and feeling insecurity shouldnt HR be responsible? Yes it is very difficult to handle in workplace when some senior persons are involved into this.
So we can discuss this in a positive way that what is the impact in HR and how to resolve this...

Hi Friends,
Work place activities are confined to only work related activities and if something outside scope of work may arise due to human behaviour it can be dealth with human relation angle only.....
HR is vider subject but it should bein context of subjects of HR Managment only. If someone got into affair or tempted towards another coworker this is not HR issue..
We should feel good for openness of the people that they love each other in office but ensure that does not affect work. Rest is their baby....My freind is HR he got married with one girl from his office both of them work in same company for more than 12 years..My another friend who was in love during MBA got job and he recruited his girlfirend and got married and worked in same organization for over 10 years....
Nothing is wrong everything is fare until it doesnot bother third person.
