I am Prady, planning to start my own home-based HR consultancy here in Mumbai. I wanted to know how to begin with this venture. Are there any institutions that can guide or support me in starting the HR consultancy and assist me in organizing HR training programs with firms and organizations? Also, please advise if anyone is looking for a partner in the same business.

Happy to help, you need some basic infrastructures and knowledge.
1. Start off with a sole proprietor model (you need a trade license from the local municipality).
2. You would need a service tax number eventually.
3. You would need some clients; you can approach the BFSI sector, you can easily get some.
4. Do not take a job site in the beginning; you can start with free job sites like Shine, Careesma, etc.
5. Wait and watch how your business proceeds (which sector you are working for and adjust).
I am presently looking for freelancers; I have a bulk of work in the west; you can try it out and see whether you will be interested.
