Dear Seniors,
Our employees face problem when they approach to ESI dispensary for medicines as per the prescription issued by the doctor. In most cases the medicines are not available. The dispensary people say that they will order the medicine and the same shall be available in 2-3 weeks. But a patient can not wait till date. He has to purchase medicine from medicine shops. My question is if due to unavailability of Medicine in dispensary if a IP patient purchase medicine from outside, can he claim reimbursement thereafter and if yes what is the procedure, else if he doesn't have money to procure than what is the option left for him.
