Hi,
I just started with a new company. We are a firm of 27 employees. Since we are still small, everyone is asked to contribute to the recruitment and screening process. However, being the HR Manager, I am flooded with resumes from all the employees. What is a process that can be put in place for the company?
I should also say that 90% of the time, we do not even have job vacancies but the owner would like to have hires in place in case something comes up. What is something that can control the amount of resumes as well as a system in which we can put the resumes?

First n foremost you need to have HR policy in place. You need to identify the genuine need for recruitment (n not just hire to cope up with pressure of work). Selection has to be made on certain parameters / criterias. Strict adherence to the selection criteria will automatically eliminate unwanted resumes.
You need to convince your owner about the recruitment process. (not to hire when there is no requirement and selection criteria to be followed etc.) Also convey him this is the standard practice in leading corporates.
All the best

Hi,
As Suresh rightly pointed out that you need your set of HR policies and procedures in place.
Also having technology installed for your recruitment management, vedore management, payroll management, leave and attendance management would be of great use.
Once you have these in place you can look at devicing strategies for your core HR activities.

Imran.

Hello,
Depending on the type of organisation you are working with currentlyyou need to understand their staffing requirement. for this you need to speak to the owner about the organisation structure he wants to establish. Once thats done ask him for further growth plans and based on his future targets identify where you will require more people and recruit accordingly.
Based on their job role and requirement set the criterias and parameters and do the interviews. Ideally recruitment should involve key people, ie HR manager and dept.head if there is one or owner in case of a closely held company.
I will be happy to help in any way in case you are looking for anything specific.
Best wishes,
Dimple
