Hi all LinkedInians,
This query I am putting is for those HR people who are not using any kind of software but maintaining the reports manually.
Topic - Leave and Attendance Management.
After maintaining the attendance sheet and leave details, let me give you a gist of what kind of issues I am facing:
1) To follow the leave details and prepare a final report on a monthly basis, it's difficult to count under CL, PL.
2) To keep updated the leave forms is difficult as I don't want to waste more paper. I have prepared a quarterly leave sheet, but it's not easy to update.
3) When the matter of comp-off comes for working on Sundays and they take leave, but that updation never comes on time, that this particular day's leave was a comp-off.
What I am looking for:
4) I want to maintain a spreadsheet for all the compiled entry of leave - PL, CL, SL, attendance, comp-off, extra leave with pay (in case of SL).
5) Every time it's very difficult to cross-check with the same submission papers.
6) And I also wanted to have no use of leave forms (hard copy or soft copy) so apart from software, is there any other way to do it?
I would like if you all can suggest with the details and how to manage step-wise, please do revert...
Note: I have checked many of the Excel sheets and formats of leave but the compilation kind of, I have not got.
Regards,
Shalini

Dear Ms. Shalini,
Your query is a bit complicated. It's not that easy to have everything worked out as per our requirements. We need to consider various factors associated with it. Kindly email your precise/specific requirements rather than confusing me. I will talk to my colleague, who has sufficient experience in Excel, as we can keep trying something new. If we can work it out, then we shall be able to meet your requirements; otherwise, we will carry on the way it is.
With profound regards,
From India, Chennai

Hi Shaik Sir,
As you mentioned, it is actually complicated to compile everything in one sheet; that is why I have this query in this forum. Otherwise, I am using separate Excel sheets and paperwork for this.

Dear Ms. Shalini,
I hope you are doing well.
We have a customized ERP and SAP system (exclusively for the Accounting department), yet we continue to rely on various Excel formats for different purposes. We are making efforts to reduce paper usage, but the process seems never-ending. I am still unclear about the entire process - are we aiming to simplify or complicate it further? I think our patience levels are driving us to simplify the existing process while emphasizing accuracy, a result of technological advancements. As the world shrinks, so do our lives.
There are ways to accomplish tasks without paper wastage, and I encourage you to explore various possibilities to execute the procedures efficiently, yielding better results rather than giving up. While data entry may seem tiresome at times, it is an essential aspect for processing information.
Let's remain hopeful for the best outcomes and avoid being overly attached to our expectations, as it is not conducive to progress.

Dear Mr. Himadri Mehta,
I wonder why such resourceful information is not made available to the community members by CITEHR TEAM. What might have gone wrong? Who might have deleted that file? I am trying to locate the originator/owner of that file. Perhaps it will help us to upload it again.
