There is a very serious issue that has come up can we all join hands together and try to sort out the issue. Someone is trying to make money by taking money from the candidates stating that u need to pay some amount which is refundable for the Interview process. This is done using names of very prestigious companies like L&T and Tata Motors.
I too got such mails and sms also. Initially I just rejected it but now it's become frequently. I got alarmed about this and called both the companies to check the genuinity of the same. They said it's fake and they have requested our help in this matter. I seek ur suggestions and help in this matter to nab the culprit so that the innocent people doesn't fall into the trap. I look forward for ur generous support.

The only way out is common sense. No reputed company will ask you to deposit money for air fare/train fare to attend interviews.
That itself is a giveaway. Secondly standard of English in these offer letters leave much to be desired.
When you get such offer letters for jobs you never applied for,it is time to use delete button and move on. When majority of people disregard such silly offer letters,the con artistes will find out new ways to cheat. Do not be a victim.

PLease follow one simple rule. Do not open mails, or respond to if you open them, that you never expected. For example, interview calls, notification of winning Prizes or Lottery tickets, free holiday for 2 or 4, etc. There are also mails floating around seeking help to transfer money from one country to another with an offer to give 10 to 20% commission. many people have lost a fortune chasing such offers.

First the English is atrocious.
Tata or L&T will not use such ungrammatical and poor English in their letters/communications.
Big companies like this never send unsolicited job offers.
Most important giveaway is the fact that they are asking for ""Refundable"" deposits.
Pay is way above market standards.
Earlier such ads used to ask for Rs8500 now with increase in airfare etc they have started asking for Rs15200.
The con tricks which are common are reflective of the times we are in.
Time and again big companies give warnings about such scam offers.
Other favourite companies offering such jobs are Hyundai,Maruti.
If one can fall for such offers,then no one can help you from being conned.Just read this:

It can be a very tough lesson to bear, and devastating for cash strapped job seekers. Don’t learn things the hard way. Avoid falling prey to unscrupulous scammers, do your homework and checks very carefully.

As Simhan says, the business of scamming is world wide.
One of the biggest frauds being perpetrated on the world for the last few years comes from India. Call centres in India are telephoning people all over the world, to tell them their computer is infected with a virus. They claim to be from "Windows Technical Support". No such organisation. They are careful not to say Microsoft these days.
They try to trick you into giving them remote access to your computer, and of course download malware. Then charge you to solve the problem.
If you search Youtube, there are dozens of videos of people round the world playing along with these scammers and wasting their time. Some of the videos are hilariously funny.

Also coming from India is another scam being inflicted on Australians regarding solar energy rebates which no longer exist here. Sadly, I have suspicions that there is a CiteHR member who might be involved with this scam.

We have posts which offer high amounts for simple copy paste,we have loans being offered,we have people ready to do projects for you on payment,so that students can get higher project marks.
All this is human nature.
If there is a member of the forum involved he must be exposed.

But as a CiteHR member yourself, I think you can understand that the sentense "Sadly, I have suspicions that there is a CiteHR member who might be involved with this scam." can be unnecessorily invoking anxiety amongst all members....
