Dear Friends

What is a work stress?

Work Stress is a feeling that created when we react to the particular event in work environment may be due to over work load, strenuous work, fatigue etc.

What is Attempting a Suicide?

Attempting a Suicide is a screaming / alarming sound by the unnoticed/unrecognised person in the world to draw the attention of the world / near and dear ones towards them. The Suicide attempts should be considered as disease and it is not treated as an offence.

Interview Question : Can you work under Stress?

Expected reply : All the successful leaders are having the ability to work under pressure and within the time frame to accomplish their tasks. I am also having the ability to accomplish my task within the set time frame and can handle the work effectively as the work with pressure only will yield the good results.

Stress : As a matter of fact stress will lead to many mal functions in our body, like hyper-tension, blood sugar, loss of appetite, Heart Attack, affects the liver function, increase in Cholesterol level, anxiety, migraine, severe head ache, heart pain, etc.

Remedies Available : That’s the reason nowadays some IT companies are organizing the Art of Living Programme, Yoga Classes for their employees, which reduces the stress and increase the work efficiency in the employees.

The Work Tension, Work Pressure, Strain, Stress and other relevant words are to kept only in the work and it should not be transparented in to our mind or body which tends to commit or attempt to Suicide.

The above comments I have given is only in generic nature and not specific to the case what is in question. As said by Ms. (Cite Contribution), it can be analysed only when the query raised is clear and specific to the incident.

salam:-
actually this is my proposal defend to our supervisor so i need more info about this topic. For your information, I chose this topic based on the current trend shows increasing incidence of suicide due stress. Statistics show, for a period of fifteen years, seven to twelve people in one hundred thousand people from Malaysia, died of suicide. This situation clearly shows that there is are a serious problem and needs to be handled wisely.
Problem statement:-
1. To identify the relationship between workload, expectation and leadership on the stress level of employee.
2. To identify whether personality variables have any differing impacts on stress n suicide among employee.
3. To determine the factors that are associated with suicide i.e. demographics, social factors and risk factors (psychiatric illness, physical illness, and life events).
** my target respondent is corporate sector especially in insurance company. hope u can share some info to defend my proposal

Wa alaikum Salaam
You had defined the perfect "PROBLEM STATEMENT" and kindly do try elaborate the same and add as much information as you can.

SUICIDE DUE TO STRESS FACTORS
1) Let it be any organisation, STRESS is associated with ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE includes RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TEAM MEMBERS - HORIZONTAL & VERTICAL LEVEL, TARGETS TO BE ACHIEVED, WORKLOAD, WORKING HOURS, MOTIVATIONAL FACTORS(negative) includes PAY FACTORS associated with PERSONAL COMMITMENTS, INDIVIDUAL GROWTH FACTORS associated with HARDWORK/SINCERITY/HONESTY etc which may be IGNORED leading to FRUSTRATION, that gives birth to STRESS.
2) Every HUMAN BEING is EMOTIONAL(PSYCHOLOGICAL/MENTAL) but if the EQ is TOO HIGH then an employee cannot control his feelings and if the feelings are HURT, it can even lead to STRESS, may be followed by SUICIDE.
3) PSYCHIATRIC ILLNESS correlated with LIMITED POTENTIALITY often can be PSYCHOLOGICAL/EMOTIONAL FEELINGS(NEGATIVE THINKING)
4) PHYSICAL ILLNESS AND LIFE EVENTS may also be a reason for STRESS that may trigger SUICIDE.

Have you read any books pertaining to STRESS. If no, kindly do let me know, will provide you link where you can download relevant information..

Stress is a self created/self-driven phenomenon, it doesn't come from outside...stress comes when things don't happen the way we like or we have to deal with something we don't like. something in particular or many other reasons. Stress is nothing but a fear inside us.

The only thing one can do to in such situations is to change himself/herself to that situation, if he/she can't deal with it or don't get bothered with it at all.

Sometimes lack of experience and competing with peers or dealing with someone superior than you brings stress.....to avoid situations like this my suggestion is to respect all and try to learn the positive things rather than looking into your own weaknesses...everyone of us have some superior quality compare to others in the group, so emphasize more on your strengths than weaknesses and try to work to overcome the weakness, that's the only cure.

All one should need is the fighting spirit, positive thinking and to organize himself/herself and work hard to over come the fear.

Meditation (like sitting quietly with eyes close and no disturbance and not thinking about anything like in total vaccum) is the best healer, to help you overcome the stress and gives you the inner strength. Try it for half hour twice once in the morning and once in the evening.
