Dear all,
There is a confusion comes in my mind. That-:
1. If one employee doesn't perform his duty before and after national holiday whether he is eligible to get the extra one day wage for that day.(Example- If suppose employee-"A" has not perform duty on 25.01.2015 and 27.01.2015, whether he will get the extra one day wages that is on 26.01.2015 or not.
2. If one employee doesn't perform his duty on 26.01.2015 but he has performed on 25.01.2015 and 27.01.2015. then what will happen.on the extra one day wage.
3. If one employee doesn't perform his duty and taking rest at office rest room and didn't punch the attendance then what will happen on that extra one day wages.

1. NHFH rules clearly says that you have to provide paid holiday for the holidays announced in Form V. If an employee worked on that day you have to provide a comp off or double wages.
2. Some companies do not calculate wages on 30/31 days basis.. due to that, this confusion arises. 26.01.15 will be considered as paid holiday. For eg: when an employee works for 6 days x 8 hours, employer is supposed to provide one day paid holiday for rest. alike this festival holiday is also considered as a paid holiday. If you are calculating salary for only working days (26 days) basis, you have to consider this national holiday as also like one week off and process the salary. for eg: if salary is 10,000/- per month; 31 days - 4 week offs - 2 Paid holidays = 25 days. so per day wage will become Rs. 400/- x 25 = Rs. 10,000/- If he had taken any more leaves, then Rs. 400/- will be reduced / day.
3. If an employee doesn't perform his duty and taking rest, He is not entitled for that day wage. You have to consider that day as an absent. If he is wantedly doing that like pen down strike, you have provision to cut 8 days wages for that day.
