Learn What the Best are doing 12/June/2007

Hi Everyone,

I am a student pursuing my Masters in Human Resource and Organizational Development (MHROD) from Faculty of Commerce and Business, Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University.

I am doing a project with an IT firm on the topic -"Bechmarking Training and its effectiveness" (with emphasis on effectiveness) in IT, and other Best employers.

I have already identified and contacted few corporates like you whose inputs I believe were very important in successful completion of this project.

I request you, to join and fill in the questionairre enclosed(within 3 days of aforementioned date) to share your practices and learn what the Best are doing. Send your response at the given email ids.

The results(key findings) of this survey will be made available to all the respondents only.

Further, Your answers will be treated anonymously and with complete confidentiality and aggregated with the responses from other organizations.

Regards

hi Radhika,
As you can see the questionnaire is not asking 'too confidential' of information... Some of the requirements are those, which Best employers boast themselves in media while discussing their training practices.
Anyway, there have been around 16 downloads till now and i recieved 3 responses by mail... few of them ready to provide info with a condition of sharing the key results which i already agreed after discussing with my guide.
Moreover, if u r doing the same proj then i think we can share our experiences to add richness to the project. If u also think so, then drop me a mail or tell me your id.
regards,
Virender

Hello,
I have provided inputs to you in the form attached.
But I would suggest that you should re-look at the form, the assessemnt & findings would actually not give any valid results.
I browsed the form so gave in my inputs, but when you expect industry professionals to spend time & fill the form, even the survey form should be of that level.
None the less All the best for your project, and you should post your findings to all rather than saying it shallbe shared with only those who take the survey.
When you give something to the world you get something back!!!

hi nidhi,
Thanks for your inputs.
I had the same doubts as yours about the form....I prepared a detailed 32 questions questionnaire....but after many discussions with my guide(They say nobody will read this long)..and edited that to the final version I posted....dont know whether findings would actually valid or not...but I think it is bit customized .....Lets see, how it comes out....
Thanks again for your time.

hi Virender/Nidhi,

I have sent the filled questionnaire at ur id. check it.

I think your questnr is decent enough to capture the relevent information about the training processes and its effectiveness.

Regarding the validity issue, Its understandable that its according to the requirements of your organization. We undertook the same study with one consultants help and the questions were almost on these grounds... but still, acco to this also, you can benchmark on almost all parameters.... for eg.-Man days(which is imp factor to discriminate betn two orgn)

Reputation of the vendors is also necessary. Identifying trng needs is one of the crucial factors. you can study the following.

- % utilization of different Training Needs Identification methods.

- % of successful Training Programs per "Training Needs Identification" method.

- % of successful Training programs / Training Process.

- % of Outsourced Trainers.

- % of Successful Programs / Outsourced or Insourced Trainers.

- % of Outsourced Programs / Training Focus Area.

- % of Successful Training Programs ( Impact at Level 3 & Level 4 Levels).

- % of Organizations at different Training Effectiveness Measurement Level.

- No. of Training hours / employee.

- Changes in Competency level / employee.

- External expenses in Training as a percentage of Payroll.

I suggest that you stress more on questn 7 and 8.

anyway, when is it getting over and mail me the resuts.

tks

hi saloni,
thanks for sharing the knowledge on the subject....project will be over by mid of next month, and will be mailing you the results around 20th..
One more issue.... In one or two feedbacks i recieved...I found that....companies directly reach level 3 bypassing level 2... is that possible??
