Hello friends/members,
I'm here again to ask you a question...so please bear me.:-D
Yesterday i got a interview call from a consultancy for a voice process..I said no to them cuz I seriously want to make my career in hr field.the person who was on the line replied me back that company's are planning for the cost cuttings due to recession ...n r not planning to add employees in their hr depts..so don't miss this oppurtunity..etc..etc
So, I wanted to know is that really true???
R we (job seekers,MBA in hr) will be jobless till recession??
I'm searching for the job in hr field 4 the past 5 months...whenever I go for the inteviews for the post of hr I give my 100% in the interviews but They
Tell me that we'll let u know n after that i keep waitin forthere replies.is this becos of Recession.

Hi Phardeep,
your words resembling that you are attending interviews for HR.Then what does it mean?you have opening for HR in market.but the thing is in previous interviews you are not giving your full effort in the competitive market to get a job.So try to improve a littlebid and you will get the fruit.Moreover the consultancy HR's work is to convince the candidates though the candidate is not interested.They are doing their part.So mistake is not on them.If you are keenly interested you just try without any deviation.

Before that people switch there jobs so as to get job satisfaction but now people are more conscious about job security with priority.

In this recession time people don’t want to switch job because of fear that if cost cutting will be happen in new organization then they will target first as they are new comers.

When people don’t switch job then there will be no new opening.

Some organization wants experienced professionals to handle the critical situation – when new opening creates then there is lot of competition.

When competition starts then chances are very less to get the job easily, so one has to put maximum efforts to get it – with high skills.

Moral of the story:-

To get a good job in this competitive situation (as we are facing now) one has to workout more on job knowledge, presentation skills, positive attitude, and confident level with negotiation skills.

One thing more – don’t always blame on recession – now this is a time to compete.

Dear Phardeep,

When did you complete your MBA. Most companies say in their job postings that they want to 0-2 years experience. But the truth is they will choose some one with atleast some experience if not in HR then some corporate exposure.

Lets not blame recession, but I would say if you get a job somewhere else, take it.

Dear Phardeep,
We are getting the impression of depression out of your words. Let's be confident and endeavor to search more rigoursly and religiously. One should keep on trying persistently, but with different ways.
It's time to do some self improvement and ,grab the oppurtunity which is coming to the way.
Co's require immensly sophisticated people with gud experience in HR. Perhaps they invite applications for freshers but always hire the people with max. experience.
Consultancy is not the bad option for having a startup, later u can step ahead towards the ladder.
and hi don't blame anything for not getting a job and don't give excuse to urself too, rather do persistent efforts.

I have got to know that a person from Business Development field can get into HR easily,and exp. in the said field is ranked high at the time of recruitement for HR Dept. Is that true? What in the profile of Business deve is fruitful for Hr jobs?

Even i am facing the same problem with few consultancy, i am working in Consultancy & i know how much it's very hard to get job. More over these companies people will call for 0-2 yrs of experience but they will not short listed for fresher. My suggestion Try for Bank Jobs Even they have HR Department.

Dear Phardeep,
It is true that jobs in HR due to recession is bit less but things are not wrong for the deserving ones. If you are getting an opening with a recruitment firm, there is no harm in going ahead and joining there for the time being. It is better to join a recruitment firm get some exposure on the various profiles in the industry. Remember sourcing and recruitment is a major part of any HR's profile. It is better to work and wait for the recession to pass.
