I need to design an MDP for frontline employees in the chemical industry. Can you suggest what all it should include, also tell which specific type of training modules should be there? What all steps should I take to ensure that MDP is effective in the long term and fulfills the needs of employees.

Dear Pritesh,

Though your query is not so long, its reply is vast. We, the members of this forum are outsiders and we know nothing about your industry in general and company specific issues in particular.

Objective of Management Development Programme is to enhance skill sets of your managers. In addition to the technical skills, you need to develop in your managers various business skills in the field of finance, supply chain, management and so on. For this you need to study the systems and processes of various departments and identify the training needs. Based on these needs, MDP can be designed. The end result of MDPs is to improve quality of decisions taken by the managers and improve their professionalism.

It may be noted that MDPs need customisation and what has worked for others may not be a solution to your company.

If you wish to discuss about designing MDP, feel free to contact me.

Thanks,
