Dear Asha

Whatever the dress may be, it should not distract others (employees, employers, customers and outsiders).

Whatever the dress may be, it should be match with the working environment. (Factory workers can not be permitted to come in Loose dress i.e., in Dhotis Sarees or salwar with dupattas)

Whatever the dress may be, it should not be odd to others as the employees are forced to wear without their likings. The colours whatever you are selecting should have a pleasent look.

Whatever the dress may be, it should be suitable and accepted by the area (You cannot insist Sarees in Delhi & Punjab & You cannot insist for Lehanga chunni for Tamil Nadu)

Whatever the dress may be, it must be made by quality dress materials, and it should not be bought in cheap quality cloths, it will get faded in due course and simultaneously the company's name also get faded alongwith dress.

While introducing Dress code

Please make sure that the dress should not be worn outside.

Whenever the dress is worn by the employees they must keep in mind that they are representing the image of the company. So they should be very careful for their behaviourial attitude.

Wish you all the best

With warm regards

Dear Asha,
Bhaskar has rightly explained about the dress code. Thanks Bhaskar!!!
An employee is the image of the company outside;hence he/she has to dress according to the standard of the company as well as the designation. It matters many times.
Eg:- Working in a company when clients or the 3rd party comes to the office and first impression would be the cleanliness, layout of the work place, employees their dress and so on. if its not been professionally maintained then the visitors will have a negative impression.
Leggins- when it is worn with kurtha its formal but if it is worn with tops, causal wears its casual.
so dress code does have its importance.

Dear SSA
You cannot wear as like Mahatma Gandhiji (Khadi Dress). If you wear in office then it will become a great issue.
You have to choose only as per the dress code available in office or which gives you a decent appearance lest you will become a comedy piece to others

It is management’s intent that work attire should complement an environment that reflects an efficient, orderly, and professionally operated organization. The policy may intended to define appropriate “business attire” during normal business operations and “casual business attire” on weekends.

The Company recognizes the growing popularity of casual business dress and the positive effects of this shift to boost employee morale, improve quality, encourage more open communication and increased productivity, therefore, creating a more comfortable work environment. Therefore, casual business attire will be permitted on weekends. The Company reserves the right to continue, extend, revise or revoke this policy at its discretion.

Enforcement of this guideline is the responsibility of Company management and supervisory personnel.

The key point to sustaining an appropriate causal business attire program is the use of common sense and good judgment, and applying a dress practice that the Company deems conducive to business environment. If you question the appropriateness of the attire, it probably isn’t appropriate.

And also members please encourage such discussions it might be small or big. As these types of doubts cannot be cleared by any of the consultants nor find solution in the statutory. A discussion forum like this can only help in taking a common and agreed decision.
Please who ever it is pls dont discourage by telling is this Big Question or important...
Asha you have made a great courage by posting such questions for which most of us will draw back to post by thinking what other might think about such questions.
Great Job... keep going
Happy New Year to you also....
