Hi,
There is contributory period of ESIC from April to September and October to March . And beneficiary period from Jan to June and July to Dec.
If one has made contribution from October 12 to March 13 she will get benefit till Dec 13.
we cannot stop the esic contribution if increment takes place in Jan we have to continue deduction till March.
Hope your query is solved. All the best to you.

Dear Mr. Raman,
Mr. Negidi is right and further i would like to draw your attention on the example for better understanding:-
Ceiling Value: 15,000 w.e.f.1/5/2010
Explanation: a person whose salary is more than 15 k per month at the time of joining he will not be member of ESI, so no deduction will be there.Suppose if someone is getting 14500 in the month of April 2010 and his salary increased by Rs.1000 w.e.f. May 2010 onwards, so now his salary is 15500.he will continue to be member up to Sep 2010 and deduction will be made on 15500 till Sep 2010, after that he will be exempted from ESI. Employees will be exempted from ESI after March or September if there is increase in between.
