I have worked with Aon Hewitt for one year where I have worked for some outsourced HR related activities for canadian client. I have done MBA in HR and want to start my career as a HR executive. Please guide me in this. I am getting some jobs as a recruiter in BPOs. Shall I start my career in HR as a recruiter. How I can gain experience in other HR activities.
What will be my growth prospects if I start as a recruiter?

Hi,
You are an MBA-HR and have some HR related experience and understanding of the functions of HR from your total 5 years of experience, but can you please share more about your knowledge and experience with other HR functions and current responsibilities?
In your query, you wished to go for Core HR but at the same time you are asking about Recruitment and career growth that evidently says your situation and concern about your careers these days which is understandable but one thing that you must have to realize is that you still have to establish yourself in HR, and have to work upon Career Planning before going further. You already have spent a good time in your career /working life that also matters, so please make yourself clear with whatever you wanna do or wanna move ahead in your career life.
Second, I don’t think there is any need to tell you about “Recruitment” or what it is all about. But it is a part/function of HRD and I feel you are well aware of it and responsible for the same with your current work profile too. Further to tell you, in a company, much of the recruiting is done by the employees from within but Core HR covers all the things like PD, PA, Recruitment, Benefits, Compensation, Policies.
To go with Core HR, you need to improve your knowledge with every functions of HR which is important to enroll yourself for the position you want. This certainly gonna be bit difficult for you because you already have spent 5 years but yet to run on a path you wished for, or can see many changes in life further, therefore, you also have to be ready for the same.
Now, it is really important to know know the differences between these two profile/functions (Recruitment and Core HR) for your better understanding, so that, you can decide where to go or with.
I would suggest you to have look the following and hope you gonna find them helpful
