Dear Senior,
I am working in an IT Firm as HR.My question is that if any employee has taken leave in a week up Thursday and her/his reporting day is on Friday and even she reported on that day, means came on Friday after the leave, but gain absent on the coming Monday, where previous Saturday and Monday were declared official holidays.
So my question is that, whether Saturday,Sunday and Monday will be taken as leave or only Monday is taken leave. Please clarify my question as soon as possible.
Eagerly waiting for your replies.

Hi Sir,
Actually my question is that,an employee has taken 13 days leave in the month of June. She was to report on Friday, means her leaves ended on Thursday,so she was to report on Friday, while in my organization Saturday & Sunday are official holidays, but what happened in her case that, she reported on Friday and again on succeeding Monday she was on leave.
So my question is that whether only Monday should be taken as leave or preceding days means Saturday and Sunday should also be taken as leave.
Please clarify my queries.

Hi All,
Thanks........for the response, she reported on Friday, but it was for half day only,so in this case also, whether Saturday and Sunday would not be considered as leaves

Hi Shweta, Sunday and Holiday can not be counted as leave in the situation you have mentioned. Only Monday will be counted as leave. Riyaz

- Is the leave authorozed ? Have you given permission to avail leave from Monday to Thursday? If leave authorized toal leave is 4 days.
- Employee attended duty on Friday after avaling 4 days leave, therefore you allowed the employee to work on Friday.
- Saturday and sunday are declared as holidays.
- If employee not turned for duty on Monday, without intimation,do not sanction leave on Monday and mark absent and adjust the wages accordingly.
- If the employee asked permission for Monday and informed the authority with areasonable cause, sanction leave on Monday.
- Remember the employee not worked 40 hrs/week,adjust his wages accordingly in accordance woth organozation's policy and terms of engagement.

Dear.... Since the employee reported on Friday, although it was a half day working, the suceeding Saturday and Sunday gets covered for payment of salary purposes. The fact that the employee again was on leave on Monday doesn't make any difference. Hope this clarifies. Regards:

Hi.. Shweta,
very simple, if he or she avail leave upto thursday and reporting on friday whether half or full day and as per your official saturday and sunday is holiday than he or she also avail that holiday becuase he or she is present on friday.
and monday if he or she was absent than apply for a leave.
So conclusion is saturday and sunday is a part of holiday and monday is count as a leave.
