Hi Bindra,
I do not trust recruitment can be done through Facebook at least in India, however Indian folks do not update their personal detail on a regular basis. Please use other social networking sites just like Linkedin etc.
Guys please share your opinion too for better clarity...

Hi
Very few people in India will prefer Facebook for getting their job. Linkedin for sure very useful. I my self do 80% recruitment through linkedin. But facebook is for personal use not for professional use. This is what I believe.

I do 80% of recruitment through facebook.
Steps I follow:
1: Find targetted groups according to the job vacancy.
2: Post about the job vacancy.
3: Collect resumes.
4: Screen them.
5: Schedule an interview

what i fell is facebook can be a good source for requirement. i agree with Akshat. we can post about the job vacancy and can collect resumes, which can be further sorted. but it is a time taking process..

It depends on your requirement that what kind of hiring you have to do if it is for front line or executive/freshers then we can post the openings on facebook because for this profile we can not find the same data over linkedin neither i mean there is less chances, wherein Facebook is using by almost people whether they are working or not & also we can create groups & make friends & then post the opening.

I think that we can not depend on Facebook for recruitment, because it is completely focused on social life not on professional. Facebook may be used as a branding tool or data/resume collection from a small segment. Your screening begins with limited applications.
If you require to recruit skills specific & client specific candidates than Facebook becomes inadequate source of recruitment.

Agreed with Mr. Shankar that facebook can be used for frontline positions. Good idea can be implemented.
