Contractor workman can be eligible for member works committee???

Dear Based on Indian labor laws, contractor workmen are generally not eligible to be members of the works committee. The committee is meant for direct employees of the principal employer.

The contract workers can't be member of works committee.
In exceptional conditions where management workers are not in significant numbers than of daily working force but engaged under contractors. The number of worker representatives should be 20,if total strength is100 and contract workers stands 80. In the said conditions,workers are to be taken from the contractor.
