Hi All, I am working in the call center industry and have always been fascinated to be a successful HR. I am planning to do my MBA with HR. But I am confused regarding what Institute do I join and will I have a stand in the HR field after my MBA through Distance Learning. Please help me decide.

Institutes?..there r many in India so just check websites..at this time most of the them have already commenced their admission process for written exams..
Let me ask you one question..why HR?..please tell us as what do you like or rather fascinated about HR?..
MBA through distance learning is okay if you are working say in HR department already..if in a different deptt then your understanding & co-relating the same to workplace would be undermined..
So make a choice..any case HR specialisation comes in the second year..first concentrate getting into a good institute..

To be in the Hr field you really have to possess a liking for the same.
i would suggest that you have a face to face interaction with ur HR manager in the call centre and try to figure out what actually thay look for.
what goes in favour of you is that u have a hands on experience in the Call centre and you are in a better position to appreciate the working environment, conditions, recruitment trends, attrition rates.....
Hoewever if you are looking for some other sectors than the chances are bright that you may land up in a consultancy.
it all depends upon ur liking and future plans
so give it a deep thought and best of luck

I was exacly in the same position as you were.
I was working in a call center and wanted to be a n HR exec.
So I did my MBA, but joined a software firm as Business Analyst.
But being a Business Analyst helps me study the functions of HR from a recipient point of view. I am still intersted in HR and planning to continue my studies in HR.
What I would suggest is, do a full time MBA course.
Aim for XLRI or do a course in TISS.
But before that, dissect yourself thoroughy and try to explain and justify your liking towards HR.
May be more interactions with the HR executives in this forum would help you take a better decision.
