Hi Everyone!!
I will like to clear my doubts here. i wish some one can help me out!!!
well i'm currently working in a company where the company grands 20 leaves in a year in total.
I have currently taken 4 days leaves. Now i have 16 days of my leaves where i'll be resigning my current job in a month because i have better opportunity in different company.
so will it be possible that i can take the whole leave at one time within this period of my resignation??

Dear AbenKikon,
You could have given little more information about you and your company. Are you from India? If not then you need to follow labour laws of your country.
Secondly, one more factor that counts is approval of leave by your HOD or Manager. What if the law permits but Manager does not approve the leave? People may come and go but company work need to continue. For this predominantly managers are responsible. Therefore, talk to your manager and find out the position. Sixteen days is a long period and it may not be possible for your manager to put up with your absence during the notice period. Till your replacement arrives, your manager may tell you groom someone else to handle your work. For this, your presence is necessary. Therefore, if manager does not approve your leave then check the provisions of leave encashment.
Lastly, about English grammar. Plural for the word "leave" can be used for describing part of a plant or tree. Plural is also used to describe detachable plastic sheet used in office folders. To describe, employee leave you need to phrase "number of days of leave".
Thanks,

No company will allow you to take leave during notice period. It is, however, possible to negotiate with your company since you already have trained your replacement.
It is possible that you are eligible for encashment of leave on end of employment. Check the shop and establishment act of the state where you work.

Hi Aben,
Even though you have been working for your current company for a long time, your employer will hardly allow you to take all days of leave within your resignation process. HR department often count days of leave based on the number of working months in this year (except probation period, of course).
