Hi all,
I need some advice. I am currently working in HR, in a more administrative like role, shuffling of papers and generating reports etc.
I am not satisfied with what I am doing and don't know how to proceed. What can i do to make my role more interesting?
I am a part of a large organization. Do all large companies have the same problem of routine work or is it just me??
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Its just that its quite frustrating being in this position, and i feel like I'm not learning much. That makes me wonder if its just my company or its the same elsewhere. If its my company, maybe i should switch.....and so on
Thanks for the quick reply :?

Hi Siddiq,
I’ve recently completed my education and have been hired as HR Officer. Same was the problem with me. I was doing the routine job and Admin work. But just after few months my boss recognized my potential and start giving me some more managerial task. So be patient and don’t think of leaving the company. Just prove yourself by doing the tasks efficiently no matter whatever the task is assigned to you.
Hope you will soon find the task for which you are looking.

Dear Siddiq,
The problem of you is mostly faced in large organisation across every department.
If you see the work as routine then you will get bored and look for change. After changing to other organisation also you will feel the same.
So do your work happily and succeed and also learn the new things and get to know of all statutory compliances / skill matrix of your organisation.
If you are asked to generate reports then you do as instructed but also additional you can create certain reports which will be necessary for the organisation.
1. Analyse the reports like attrition, attrition in a particular department, identify the problem and give a report to your reporting boss.
2. Check for personal files whether all the documents are there and if any thing not collected from employees then initiate the process. Collect the duplicate copy of appraisal letter, appointment letter.
3. Look for employee attendance report and frequent absenteeism employee and report to your boss.
Slowly ask your boss that you are willing to do employee engagement activity or interested in statutory compliance or willing to do recruitment.
Remember this
