Normally the banks don't cover insurance for debit card. Whereas for Cr.card there is a possibility. For safer side send a claim to HDFC for insurance benefits attaching the DC.

Matter for consideration: Under what circumstances can the father of a deceased workman can be considered as "dependent" and entitled to the claim under(the Workmen's Compensation Act ?).
HELD: Father of a deceased workman can be considered as dependent only if it is specifically established that he was wholly or partially dependent on the earning of the workmen at the time of death of the workman, besides establishing the relationship. An issue has to be framed and the commission has to give a finding whether the father was wholly or partially dependent on the earnings of the deceased. Awarding compensation, without considering the meaning of the word "dependent" merely on the basis that the claimant is "father" is not correct.

who is eligible for EDLI, If a comppany posses PF trust in that trust is EDLI applicable for an employee ( my husband is no more), can i claim for that as a legal heir ????
they are not tied up with any other insurance ( LIC ), my husband worked with that company for 5+ yrs.

You will find attached the relevant extract of the EDLI Rules which are relevant to you. This will guide you towards claiming your benefits under EDLI scheme as a "Nominee" or legal heirl. You have to check with your husband's employer PF Trust whether your husband had included you as "Nominee" and process your claim.

thanks for ur response, but sir i know that the member in EPF is eligible for EDLI, i am the legal heir of my husband terminal benefits, but company paid only PF ( emp & empr ) contributions, but not EDLI amount as i submitted EDLI form 5(IF) they are not settling EDLI. their trust is not covered in EDLI ( their version ),
why the are not covered in EDLI, if they posses PF trust why dont they have covered in EDLI. In lie of EDLI they are not tied up with any other insurance.
