Hi friends,

In my view, initiation and relation are different aspects. In combined families, the relation will exist, but sometimes the initiation does not work to make things go smoothly. In distance education, there is no direct relation between the teacher and student, yet the course can be completed with the student's interest and reaching the target. In the olden days, Eklavya improved his skills without a guru just like Arjuna. The Kauravas were ruined due to their like-mindedness and extensive relations. In any target or purpose of action, there should be a win-win situation. In a win-lose situation, someone will suffer losses in games. Hence, in all situations, a balance should be maintained for the prosperity of humankind.

Dear Ravi,

There has to be a balance. An organization should provide avenues for effective communication. You can have various formal and informal communication channels for that. For example, formal monthly meetings, etc., and informal common interactions like tea breaks. Ultimately, employees are social beings.

However, the problem arises when employees start blurring boundaries and engage in casual or amorous relationships in the office. Some employees may form a "gang" of friends, where they start thinking and acting similarly. This can lead to them challenging the systems in place. Their behavior can sometimes be disturbing for those not part of their group, causing specific issues that could become a headache for HR or the organization.

This off-limits behavior should be curtailed through positive interventions by management/HR at regular intervals.

Thanks,
Yogita
